Important Update for US Customers
Our prices DO NOT include duties and broker fees.
All shipments to the US will be charged duties and broker fees, which will be collected by the courier service before or on delivery.
📦 What the End of the “De Minimis” Exemption Means for You
If you’re in the United States and ordering from Rolling Mavericks in the Netherlands, this change directly affects you.
🛃 What Was the De Minimis Exemption?
Until now, U.S. Customs allowed Americans to import goods worth up to $800 from international sellers without paying any import duties or taxes. That was called the “de minimis exemption.”
🚨 What’s Changing?
Starting August 29, 2025, the U.S. is removing this exemption for all countries. Every shipment—regardless of value—may now be subject to:
- Import duties (tariff based on product country of origin)
- Customs taxes (state/local)
- Brokerage fees charged by the delivery company
⚠️ Ordering Before August 29 Doesn’t Guarantee Exemption
Orders placed before August 29 may still be charged duties if your package is processed by U.S. customs on or after that date.
International shipments can take days or even weeks to clear customs. If that clearance happens on or after August 29, your package will not qualify for the exemption—regardless of when you placed the order.
💸 What Extra Costs Can You Expect?
| Type of Charge | Who Charges It | Estimate |
|---|---|---|
| Import Duty | U.S. Customs |
Typically 10% to 20% |
| Brokerage Fee | FedEx / UPS / DHL / USPS | $10–$30+ |
| Sales Tax | State-specific | Varies |
🚚 Who Collects These Charges?
These fees are collected by your delivery company (FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS) upon delivery.
❗ Price Transparency
All prices on our website exclude duties, taxes, and brokerage fees.
If incurred, these charges are your responsibility at the time of delivery.
