Rolling Mavericks Tyre Bead Holder

If you struggle with tyre changes just like me and many other adventure riders this tool is for you. You get one section of the tyre over the rim, move your levers along, and the bit you just finished pops straight back out again.

That’s why the Rolling Mavericks Tyre Bead Holder really acts as an extra hand. It keeps the tyre bead pushed down in the rim’s centre while you work your way around the wheel. This leaves both hands free for the tyre levers and makes the whole job a lot less frustrating.

It’s made from lightweight anodised aluminium and uses a nylon thumb screw to hold it in place without damaging the rim. It’s also small enough to keep in your travel toolkit, ready for the next trailside tyre change.

How to Use It

1. Fit the inner tube and guide the valve stem through the rim.
2. Start working the tyre bead over the rim.
3. Slide the Bead Holder over the section you’ve already fitted.
4. Tighten the nylon thumb screw by hand.
5. Work around the rest of the tyre with your levers while the tool keeps the bead in place.

My tip: Start away from the valve stem and finish near it. Use plenty of tyre lubricant, take small bites with your levers, and always check that you’re not pinching the inner tube.
